Great Days of My Life (10+1)

-
We (School Friends) all took Admission in the same
school(NHES, Jamshedpur) and we were the First
batch ISC from our school (1999-2000). We were
the senior-most and most looked upto students in
school and we used to take full priviledge of that in
bunking our classes and having fun.

We were always keen on taking responsibilty of the
extra-curricular activities just to avoid boring Bio &
chemestry classes. With Neela Ma'm math classes
were fun and to add taste we had our own :
SHAIWAL SRIVASTAVA.

Shaiwal was a student from DBMS (10th) and could
only secure science admissions in our school. He was
the last face that any teacher wanted to see.
'Antilog Tan Inverse 7 ' and ' Potassium ketocynide ' were
his permanent answers to all questions in maths and
Chemestry.... And he never bunked classes just to
harass the teachers. Now he is a Lieutenant in Indian
Armed Forces !!

I remained busy as "Bhatakti Aatma" in both the sections
while Awanish and Binay were right up to thier Job.
Amar never used to go to school in complete Uniform.
Ashish remained busy with us or with his Scooter, also
he had some " Side-Views ". There were some GR8
IIT Aspirants in our class such as Pritam Chaki, Amit
Ghosh, Deb Kumar and Nilabh Verma(& Rajeev).
Somnath and Gurjot were the Music Lovers/Artists !
Tamaal Chatterjee was the GR8 Lover (Vishal too) .

The Other section had damsel Ladies and the Casinova
Bhatia (Gurpreet).Misbah and Varun added some hard
flavour! Gurusharan Singh was the Rich Devil Sardar.

Study was the last thing to think !!! All of us easily got
Promoted to 10+2. Then Studies started to take its toll.
That year I read almost half the novels of our Library.

1998 Batch - I.C.S.E.

-
Our great GANG appeared for the board exams (I.C.S.E.)
in the year 1998 . But months before that we got TC from
our school for misbehaving and destroying school property.

It was the last official day in NHES (but it was not) and our
gang celebrated with complete party with songs and cakes
and lots of hoodlums !!!!! By Evening we had destroyed all
the furniture of our class room. We were all great WWE fan.

Within Our we got TC. We had not given our Pre-Boards.
But the great Awanish and kawaldeep saved the day for us.

We gave our exams in the most careless ways ! By now Me,
Awanish, Binay, Aashish and Amarpreet had become great
friends along with Smriti and Anita. Awanish had a crush on
Anita and there secret stories to that.

Awanish, Aashish and myself lived in Adityapur while Binay
and Amar at South Park. We regularily used to hang out at
Binays place as he had is personal room !!

I got very attached with Binay's Family as they were very
caring and they were many. They lived in the simplest of ways
.. and Binay was a great fun to be with. He was very Bindaas
.. while Awanish was always confused !!! Amar was a Surd
while Aashish was very homely.
Smriti and Anita lived in Bistupur( L road, R road).

By the time we appeared for our exams our school announced
to 10+2 classes to commence. After exams when we could not
secure admission in any good school we all took admission in
NHES (+2). Balwinder got commerce in RV.

Results were satisfactory for most of us as we did not studied.
My father so happy with results that gave sweets to all families
in my colony.

The great GANG was now again in NHES.. and senior most!

Our school was now a good school in Jamshedpur and
there were a couple batches which passed their I.C.S.E.

our school increased. There were students from all around
Jamshedpur. They were good, bad and ugly … all kinds!

I made various friends in my high school. Some just got LOST
while some became life-long friends. To name a few friends :

Abhijeet, Sanjeet kr, Ranveer, Amit, Balwinder Singh,
Neha Pareekh, Puja sharan, Sandhya, Awanish Singh,
Binay Kr, Aashish Dubey, Amarpreet Singh, Smriti Sharma,
Jeetesh, Sutej, Sumit Das, Gurpreet Bhatia, Anita Nagelia,
kawaldeep Singh, Abhishek Mishra, Vijay, Samreen shaad etc.

We all made a great GANG !

In coming years some of us became very close friends ...
and our teachers' greatest nightmare.

My Primary classes – NHES Jamshedpur

-
In my early academic year the school was brand new
and we enjoyed our life too much there. There were
Dance classes, Singing and Recitation periods, PT, and
sports and of course some studies. We had good teachers
in our primary classes such as Mrs. Uma Ganesh (’88, ’90),
Miss. Sonia Talwar, Miss Sharmila and Miss. Punam etc.

Our Principal (then) Mr. R. C. D’Cousa was a very good
administrator. Every month he held a Parent-Teacher
Meeting and studies were very interactive. Once I stood
3rd in std II and got prize from our Principal.

By the time our Principal left the school we were on the verge
of getting ICSCE affiliation. He expired a few years back.
Mrs. Uma Ganesh still(2006) teaches in some schools of
Jamshedpur.

Some of my early friends were Md. Surfraaz, Kailash, Bhavya,
Sanjeev Kr, Prashant Jiya, Amit Jiya, A Rakesh etc.
We used to be very naughty at times. We regularly played the
Hitting game with rubber-band and paper pieces.

Surfraaz left our school later. Prashant is now (2006) in
Jewellery business in Jamshedpur.
Sanjeev is doing MCA in JSR (2006).

I don’t remember much about my life in early 90’s.

My Early days in Jamshedpur

.
Part I

My early days in Jamshedpur was very adventuruos.
First we used stay in "out-house" of my Fufa Ji's residence
in Adityapur. It was a one room house ! My dad had a bi-cycle
and i used go marketing with him. I still remeber the day
when we came together from market with a big prawn.

My dad was a great foodie then and we used enjoy good food
eventhough we had a very small income.
In few years we shifted to LIC Colony (Pan Dukan,Adityapur).
I had lots of bengali friends there but few were junior than me.

There was one "Daadu"(old man) in the colony who usually
took few of us to beautiful site seeing near the river "kharkai"
and the railway tracks. We used to collect a lots of useful
herbs (Jari-booti). Now nothing isleft there..
all ahve become buildings and slag wastes ! !

Electricity (DVC Supply) was a major problem in Adityapur.
It being an indutrial area, domestic use was very minimal...
so we used kerosene lamps and batteries for our daily duties.

Part II

I got many toys in my child-hood..but the most importantwas my
Tri-Cycle, which i used as multi-utility Toy.

My Tri-Cycle was my play , my work and my desire. I used to go
around on it all thru my home and colony. I even went to market
to buy kerosene and vegetables on my Tri-Cycle.
Ialso used it as "Ice-cream" vending machine.

Each summer vacation i used to go to my gradparents in
Bhagalpur and had lots of great food with my "Naani".
I didn't much liked my fathers' family so chose to remain
with my maamas (maternal Uncles).
Four of my mama stays inBhagalpur. The eldest one runs my
"Naana's Kirana shop",one is mentallychallenged while
2 other are working in Govt undertaking offices.

Rajesh mama was my favourate. One of his gifted bat
always remained a matter of concern for my mother.I didn't
played much of cricket and all my friends loved it...and they
always wanted to use my bat. But Mom used to hate this..
if i will not use then no body else will !
The BAT is still with some children in the same colony.

I loved to hear lots of songs on my old tape-recorder and my
Fufa Ji's LP. My Fufa had a big house near by but i rarely went
there as there was nobody of my age .

My Birth Place - Bhagalpur

-
I took birth in the south-east room of the "SitaRam Bhavan"
-The house of my grandparents(Mother's House) situated in
Khanjarpur, Bhagalpur.

SitaRam Bhavan is serene house made only a kilometer away
from the banks of river Ganga - which the people of bhagalpur
addresses as "Gnaga Ji ".

My father's home is also situated in Bhagalpur, in a place called
